Seed/calibration role used to surface 1-3 truly exceptional London-based engineers to invite to an intimate dinner co-hosted with General Catalyst on a frontier-AI topic. This is NOT a live placement — the scorecard is a quality template, not a hiring filter.
We are looking for the single most technically brilliant engineers in London: people who would be aspirational hires anywhere. The archetype (calibration profile: a Trinity College Cambridge mathematician now working as a research engineer at a frontier AI lab) is someone with (a) an elite quantitative pedigree — Oxbridge / Imperial / a top global maths or CS programme; (b) peak raw-ability signal — first-author research at top ML venues (NeurIPS/ICML/ICLR), or international Olympiad / Codeforces Grandmaster / ICPC distinction, or notable open-source work; and (c) genuine engineering depth — ships real code in Python with PyTorch/JAX, not just papers.
We strongly prefer people currently at or recently from frontier AI labs (Anthropic, Google DeepMind, OpenAI, Mistral, Cohere) or the most technical AI startups and research groups. Applied AI / LLM-agent experience is a plus but secondary to sheer technical horsepower. Above all: someone who would be genuinely fascinating to have at a dinner about cutting-edge AI.
Location: London (UK-based, able to attend an in-person London dinner).
