Founding Forward Deployed Engineer — Reversa AI
Reversa is the operating system for regulation. Six months in, ~100% MoM growth, Fortune 500 customers and top professional services already trusting them.
They're translating +200M pages of global regulation into a live, mathematically executable knowledge graph navigated by regulatory agents that predict, draft, and execute.
This is the rarest role they'll hire this year. Regulation doesn't reveal itself in a Notion brief. The General Counsel of a multinational doesn't have a clean problem statement — their team has accumulated workarounds, manual processes, undocumented exceptions, risk that lives in someone's head.
The FDE is the person who does both halves. Sits with the customer until they understand the problem better than the customer does. Designs the agent flow, the data model, the integration. Then builds it — not as a prototype, as the thing that goes to production and gets renewed.
Most companies hire two people for this and lose information in the handoff. Reversa needs one relentless builder who can hold the whole loop. Commercial intuition + regulatory depth on one side; real technical chops + AI-native instincts on the other.
What they're looking for
- Builder DNA. Ex-founder, operator, or has shipped something serious — ideally in front of real customers.
- Preferred background: Engineering, Law + Tech (data analytics, legal tech), or Tech + Management.
- Track record at BigTech, startup founder/operator, tier-1 Big Law, or tier-1 consulting. They care more about what you did than the business card.
- AI-native. Claude Code is muscle memory. Can ship a working system in a week.
- Has sat across from senior decision-makers and changed their mind with substance, not slides.
- Comfortable with ambiguity. The brief won't be clean.
- Relentless. Extreme ownership. High agency.
Seniority & profile
- ~1 year of experience. Young.
- Hybrid. Sits with a customer one day, writes code the next. Bonus if they've passed through Big Law or top consulting before pivoting toward tech.
- Target companies on CV:
- Magic Circle: Clifford Chance, Allen & Overy, Freshfields, Linklaters, Slaughter and May (Madrid offices included).
- Tier-1 consulting: McKinsey, BCG, Bain.
- BigTech / hard tech: Amazon, Palantir, Anthropic, OpenAI, Mistral.
- Startups: operator or near-founder hire at YC / EF / a16z-backed companies.
- Or someone who has built and shipped their own thing.
- Red flags: pure consultants with no technical depth. People who can talk strategy but couldn't open a terminal under pressure.
Stack
- Python (primary), TypeScript, React, Node.
- Custom agent framework (no off-the-shelf).
- Custom knowledge graph, pgvector, Postgres, Redis.
- AWS / GCP.
- Claude Code is non-negotiable.
Soft signals (apply across all Reversa hires)
- Hustle. Going against the impossible. Most important signal.
- Builder DNA. Has shipped own projects to real users.
- AI-native. Real agent experience.
- High agency. Doesn't wait to be told.
- Direct communication. Argues hard about ideas, not hierarchy.
- Missionary, not mercenary.
- Big red flag: asking about WFH policy or process before asking about the product. Not willing to work weekends by default.
Location & comp
- Madrid only. Mostly in-office. Reasonable WFH flexibility case by case. No London for now.
- €40–50k base + meaningful founding stock options.
Day to day
- Owns a vertical of the product. Direct work with the three co-founders.
- Customers in the loop from week one.
