Founding AI Recruiter — Prism
We're building Prism: an AI-native recruitment agency. Not "an agency that uses AI" — an agency where the day-to-day workflow is human + AI by default, and the AI does the parts that used to require a team of ten. We're a YC-backed London startup.
We're looking for our founding recruiter. Someone who wants to compete head-to-head with the best agencies on earth and win — because they have leverage no one else has.
What you'll actually do
- Run end-to-end searches with AI as your co-pilot. Take a brief, calibrate the spec, source globally, write outreach, manage replies, shortlist, submit, close. Prism's tooling does the heavy lifting on sourcing and screening; you bring the judgement, the relationships, and the close.
- Win on contested roles. A lot of our work comes through marketplaces and contingent briefs where multiple agencies are racing for the same placement. You need to be faster, sharper, and have a higher hit rate than the field.
- Own clients. Build the relationship, take the brief well, push back when the spec is wrong, deliver candidates the client actually wants to interview.
- Help shape the product. You'll be the most demanding user of Prism. When the AI is wrong, you tell us. When a workflow sucks, we fix it. Founding-team-level input on what we build next.
Who we're looking for
- Proven recruiter — 3+ years. You've placed people, repeatedly. Ideally agency / contingent / search-firm side, where the win matters. Tech, product, engineering, GTM, finance — any function, as long as you've been good at it. Track record beats years.
- Startup mindset. You've worked at a startup, ideally an early one. You like ambiguity, ship fast, and don't need a corporate process to function. Bonus if it was YC or YC-adjacent.
- AI-fluent or AI-curious-and-fast. You don't need to know LLMs deeply. You do need to be the kind of person who, given a new tool, gets ridiculously good at it in a week.
- Hungry. You want to be measured on placements and you want the upside that comes with that.
- Written communication. Most candidate touchpoints are written. You write well — clear, human, not "synergy-leveraging."
- Honest. You push back on bad briefs. You tell candidates the truth. We don't run on bullshit.
Where you work
- London preferred. We're a London-based team and there's a real benefit to being in the room with us, especially early.
- Office is available, not mandatory. Hybrid is fine. Fully remote is fine if you're exceptional and your hours overlap UK working hours meaningfully.
- Open globally for the right person. If you're the best AI-native recruiter on the planet and you live in São Paulo or Singapore, we want to talk.
Compensation
- Fair base. It is not "fintech-in-2021 incredible" — we're early. It is honest and competitive for an early-stage London team.
- Meaningful equity. Founding-team-level. Real upside if Prism becomes what we think it can become.
- Commission on every placement. This is a real lever. Top performers should make more from commission than base.
How to apply
Send a short note: who you are, the most impressive placement you've ever made (and why it was hard), and one sentence on why an AI-native agency interests you. No CV needed in the first message.
We respond to everyone who applies.
